Matroc was the name given to the Technical Ceramics Division of The Morgan Crucible Company plc, in 1984. At the time the business had manufacturing sites in the UK and Spain and they were all branded under the Matroc identity. Subsequent acquisitions were not handled in a consistent way and some businesses continued to operate under their previous brand name. When the Morgan Advanced Ceramics and Morgan Electro Ceramics businesses were launched in 1999, the Matroc name was de-emphasised.
